Ground control to Major Tom! A new virtual reality exhibit on David Bowie was just announced, and it's coming to your cell phone. After six years of international touring, the art and memorabilia exhibition called 'David Bowie Is' will now be available at the touch of a button.
Bowie's official Twitter page shared the news, writing, "The David Bowie is tour has ended, but the show must go on! This fall, Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc., in collaboration with the DB Archive, Planeta, and V&A, will release a digital recreation of the exhibition on smartphones as a virtual experience."

The exhibit will go live Fall of 2018 and will be made available internationally and in nine different languages.
According to a press release, 'David Bowie Is' encompasses "3D scans [that] will preserve and present his fabulous costumes and treasured objects in meticulous detail. The experience may even allow a spectator to virtually step into one of Bowie’s outfits and see themselves in it."
