Prince George is honored with a commemorative £5 coin

To celebrate Prince George's upcoming fifth birthday, The Royal Mint has decided to honor him with a commemorative £5 coin. Decorated as a nod to his namesake, the coin features St. George and the dragon.
Taking to Twitter to share the monetary moment, The Royal Mint shared a photo of the coin and wrote, "It’s almost time to break out the cake and candles for HRH Prince George of Cambridge’s Fifth birthday! The young prince inspires a new interpretation of his namesake, St George and the dragon on a UK £5 #coin."

Nicola Howell, director of consumer business at The Royal Mint, explained the motivation behind the special coin, saying, “the birth of Prince George altered the course of history in the United Kingdom, and we are pleased to be marking the fifth birthday of our future king,” according to Channel 24.
