Embattled pop star Demi Lovato has cancelled the remaining dates on her fall 'Tell Me You Love Me' tour.
The announcement was made via her touring agency, Live Nation: “Unfortunately, Demi Lovato has cancelled her upcoming Tell Me You Love Me Tour dates in South America, as she is focusing on her recovery,” they said in a statement to Variety.
The pop star has been in the press recently due to her battle with addiction.
She was rushed to hospital on July 24 with a suspected overdose. Since being discharged, the 'Sober' singer checked into an undisclosed rehabilitation centre.
The 25-year-old wrote a lengthy post on Sunday on Instagram, saying she remains committed to overcoming addiction. “It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet,” she said of her journey with addiction in the post.
Lovato was scheduled to appear in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil starting November 14, but tickets can now be refunded following the tour’s cancellation. Credit card purchases will be automatically refunded.
The singer has made no secret of her problems, sharing her ups and downs throughout her battle with her eating disorder, self-mutilation, drugs and alcohol.
She achieved six years of sobriety in March, however she then revealed her recent relapse in the hit single 'Sober,' released in June. The track hit a new peak this week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching No. 47.
